Description
A Brooklyn buzz echoes through downtown Morgantown. Bilal Adams learned barbering in New York, then carried that craft to West Virginia, where Classic Cutz became one of the town’s few Black-owned businesses. Inside, edges soften, and the shared desire to present well is duly met. Students, locals, and families return across generations, drawn by care and belonging. This work—off a long-term book project—follows how a person becomes a community, one cut at a time.
